Artists Describing Their Art:

Dan Shiloh - I was born in Jerusalem Israel. I attended an officers nautical school and served in the navy as an engineer on a destroyer. After the navy I moved to Chicago USA and studied architecture at U of I Chicago campus and graduated in 1972 . I moved back to Israel and opened an architectural office in a small settlement in the Galilee region which became very successful. I retired about 10 years ago and opened as a hobby a black smith studio where I made metal sculptures. In 2009 I moved to Tel Aviv and started painting and sculpting in clay which I do up to these days. I was always interested in arts and I enjoy my painting and sculpting very much. Every year I travel to Florence Italy for at least a month where I paint and sculpt in the Accademia de Arte. I think its about time to share my work with the public and I hope it will enrich the homes of who ever likes my works....

Deborah Paige Jackson - I love art and design in all forms and medium, in every aspect of my life. Its a part of who I am and something I cant get away from. I try to use true to life situations when possible. My favorite medium is watercolor because of the beauty of it. It seems to have a life of its own as it flows and connects with the paper. Yet, the medium forces me to think and use extraordinary control. I am at a point in my life where the thought of art, design, and all the components involved in them consume my thinking. It shows up in my home in decorating, in my garden with landscaping, in my work, even with my family. I look forward to increasing my art presence in my portfolio here and in as many venues as possible. To all who view my work, I wish you much enjoyment. ...

Lora Vannoord - I am a Florida Artist originally from a small town in Michigan, now painting in Florida. My works are original oil paintings inspired by Mother Nature. I want to communicate my love of nature to help others see and appreciate the natural environment around them. My goal is to give others a calming and imaginative experience in their homes when they contemplate my oil paintings. I enjoy the creative composing of my landscapes using my store of images and my imagination. I combine my sketchbook images and photos to form my imaginary landscape. I then feel excited and fulfilled when my work goes well. Even as a child my happiest times were when I was creating art or attending art activities and museums. I am a member of the Tarpon Springs Art Association and NOAPS. I have been chosen to show my original oil paintings in many of their juried exhibits. I have had solo exhibits in Grand Rapids MI, Dunedin FL, Oldsmar FL and Tarpon Springs FL. I have shown oil paintings in group exhibits in Clearwater FL, Crystal Beach FL, Tarpon Springs FL, Oldsmar FL, Dunedin FL, Sarasota FL, Safety Harbor FL, Tampa FL Art Museum, Miami FL...

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Environmental Artist Apollo - "The beauty of our planet should be held in respect as well as reverence and awe! As the care takers of this precious jewel called Earth it is our duty to become more harmonious with our environment, for what we hold in our hands is a trust for future generations. What we do today, creates tomorrow." APOLLO Internationally Renowned Environmental Artist. Apollo is one of the World's Leading Environmental Artists. Apollo started painting dolphins and whales when He first moved to Maui in 1980. Since that time he has developed a Worldwide Following and has had the privilege to work with several Environmental Groups to raise both funding and awareness. ...

Lorrie Williamson - As time passes and history is made, it is exciting to try and capture a special moment of life in a painting. It might be inspired by an earth-shaking event or just an ordinary daily experience. More often it comes as a result of looking for something meaningful to say about life as it is today by painting a picture of it. I have a passion for painting, and a ongoing desire to master the never-ending possibilities that are inherent in making art. I hope to express a mood or tell a story that will grab and hold your attention and make you want to see more....

Alkistis Wechsler - Reality meets myths. Personal visual impressions of chosen English gardens ... lately also Mediterranean seaside, are coming together in imaginative collages and alchemic transformation. . Sensitive to the environment as well as to human interactions and expressions it all translates into visual myths . Not only travels between geographical points, but also a thirst for such trips in the mind through myths and readings of initiatic rituals of metamorphosis, infiltrated as well my art of painting. At the end, every archetype (for example Heliogabalus, Persephone and Artemis) and every movement reaches back to the source of rhythm and scales creating a personal mythology and so I understand my self and the world after each painting is done by a hypersensitive process and not a premeditated rational plan. The seasons or the elements and their rhythm are interwoven with my vision of human soul and the soul of the sea ...

Raymond Paul Moats - "I seek to express not what is said, but what is thought and done, by means of poetic visualizations of time, experience and adventure". Raymond Paul Moats * * * My artistic inspiration is in DaVinci's engineering ability and insight. The majestic, studied excellence of Ferris, Winslow Homer, N.C. Wyeth and Remington are great examples to note. Art, design and structural engineering are my core interests from my youngest of days. It is what I always have done. I also admire the late author, Ayn Rand, for her literary prowess and powerful insights about creativity. One of her best comments is, we do what we create by a "right, morale premise." I paint Aviation, the history, technology, man and machine. My art can be called a realist impressionistic style that draws on technical imagination, color perception, the energy and dynamics of flight. Yet my work is not limited to aviation subjects alone. I also illustrate critters, landscapes, scenes of needed things, maritime art and I am a photographer. Wood work, furniture design and re-purposing found wood objects is one of my first loves. I relish the challenge illustrating the abstract concept to create visual realities with my favorite art medium...

Michael Chatman - I create art as an expression of my interest in life in capturing the memorable scenes and ideas I have experienced. In creating an image or work, I first, picture the image or idea, then sketch on paper, measure the image to size and then transfer it on to a surface to start painting. Then I proceed to paint the areas of the image I have transformed, starting with the background and then the dominant features of the image, until I have a full painting. I mostly like to work in acrylic, although I can work in most mediums. I find that acrylics are easy to clean-up, dries quickly and is fairly forgiving, as long as one uses a lot of water. I also like working with digital art as I find it to be easy to work with, after learning the fundamentals, and can provide a precise and clear rendering of an image, as well as being able to enhance the image features. In creating Art, I want to leave a lasting impression on the viewer and make them feel as if they have been truly touched by what they've seen....

Brian Aurelio Piccini - I have always been a strong believer that to enjoy life to it`s fullest one must take the time to stop and'smell the roses'. Nature is full of perfect harmonies which for many go unnoticed. Through my work I love to bring these perfections to light with the relief that in doing so I may enrich the lives of others. More about my life as an artist and a larger collection of work is readily available to you at
