Artist Statement:
Rhuÿs was born in São Paulo,
in 1957. Accountant by
profession and painter by
vocation, he developed as a
self-taught artist until 1988
when he had lessons at Renato
Pinto’s (Repinto) studio where
he obtained many of the
technical and practical
answers that he was looking
for. He then started to show
his work in exhibitions, group
shows and salons linked to
visionary themes.Since 2003,
he has regularly frequented
the workshops of art-educator
and artist Philip Hallawell...

understanding of Man as a
spiritual being, governed by
personal and universal rules.
It is not surrealism; in fact,
it is a representation of what

reality, alive and
