Artwork Description:

I made this piece thinking about how hypocritical the whole concept of "Woman's Day" had become. Bottom line, it ended up being just a stupid commercial festivity invented by restaurant operators and flower stores. Luckily, being a woman is much else. Being a woman also means wearing a uniform and carrying a rifle. Being a woman also means to still be enslaved in Afghanistan. Being a woman also means demonstrating in the streets, defending her rights. Being a woman also means reflecting and drawing a balance of her existence. Being a woman also means observing by her wonderful eyes, other women while being in such a far western world. A little candle shines with a light of hope.
