Artwork Description:
It was a hot summer afternoon when I was doing pencil portraits at the Annual Myrtle Creek Arts Festival 1993 in Myrtle Creek, Oregon (USA).
I was setup under the covered bridge where it was cool with my two chairs, paper and pencil.
I did a few portraits charging only ten dollars per portrait. My next customer was this nice elderly gentleman, he introduced himself as Leonard Borman and sat down. We visited while I drew his portrait, he told me he was going to be 100 years old April 28th 1994. I was fascinated and listening to his life story, and when I finished his portrait I told him, no charge, but he insisted and signed his name to the portrait and gave it back to me as a gift. Wow!, I've keep it for all these years.
