Artist Statement:
As a professional artist, I focus primarily on the moving figure. I'm intrigued by the beauty and vitality of the human form in action and in interactions with others.
I try to render the gesture of three-dimensional motion by playing with figure/ground relations in my 2D work.

Eileen Kane's Premiere Artist Portfolio
Welcome to Eileen Kane's Portfolio. As a professional artist, I focus primarily on the moving figure. I'm intrigued by the beauty and vitality of the human form in action and in interactions with others.
I try to render the gesture of three-dimensional motion by playing with figure/ground relations in my 2D work.
I've worked with dancing figures created in water-based mixed media on both paper and canvas. Most recently, I've been making ink "gestures", using an ink
dropper to suggest the quick motion. I add watercolors to some of these to
develop the composition and mood through colors.
