Welcome to Minh Hang's Portfolio.
I came to United State as a Vietnamese refugee, the program was sponsored by the United Nation. I settled in Philadelphia in 1980, where I studied at The Pennsylvania University of the art.
After experimenting with many different media, such as Painting, printmaking and drawing, I specialized in painting and drawing graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1986. Ever since I started painting & drawing, art has become an indispensable part of my life. Each time I pick up a drawing tool I initiate a dialogue with my inner self. Through this process I always come back enriched as a more complete individual.
The inspiration for me is when my first trip I returned to the war torned country I left behide 22 years ago. I am inspired the vastness of the rice paddy fields, its strong contrast of heaven and earth, the ancient architectures and the richness culture of its people. I love to observe its temples, tombs & ancient palaces which are getting eroded by the passage of time. My interest in art and ancient architecture takes me to an adventure of the different cultures to see there diverse and the richness of its art forms. All these... |
