  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Cathy Savels - Nature as art, in absolute detail. A never ending paradox that tears me from reality. Everything has a spirit, a voice that needs to be listened to. Creativity is my passion. This was the journey of my childhood, as I watched my father create wonderful furniture in wood and observed my mother sewing beautiful garments with fabrics. When I search for inspiration, I look over the vineyards surrounding my studio in south-west France and ideas engulf me. Dreams evolve into reality, midnight sketches become my driving force. Before my canvas, I see the world through a lens. I'm interested in what escapes me. ...

Kimmie Hamm - Everywhere you dream to go can become a part of you and everywhere you have been is a part of you. I am an explorer and optimist at heart, so when I set out to create something one word always comes to mind: Possibilities I feel that through art I can explore the visions in my mind, everything from a small flower or blade of grass to distant worlds filled with whimsy and thoughts of what ifaEUR|aEUR|. Culturally I have two aspects that influence me one being my Native American ancestry and the other my German immigrant ancestry. I am deeply rooted in the beauty and wonderment of nature. My wise grandmother told me if you have strong roots your sprit can fly anywhere and still return home. That saying has always stuck with me and in many ways sparked my imagination. The explorer in me must come from my immigrant ancestry. My great grandfatheraEURtms family traveled to America on a steam ship in 1874. I can imagine them traveling for what must have seemed like an eternity. I often contemplate what they must have been thinking, and try to express the excitement of the unknown and the anticipation ...

Elizabeth Bogard - My art is about life. I Paint Life When Life Is Art, expressing what I see around me aEUR" people, places, moments in time - subjects I connect with on some level aEUR" intellectual, spiritual, or emotional. I find it better to let the subject come to me rather than deliberately seeking it. I believe that an artist must experiment in order to grow. Lately I am creating stylish collages using torn and cut papers from vintage and antique sheet music. As Pablo Picasso said, I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else. When this happens to me, the results are exciting. E. K. Bogard ...

Monica Malbeck - I was born and raised in Romania, attending art school there. I graduated in 1974 from a highly successful art pilot program at age 18. Where I was offered exposure to all facets of art from visual communications to industrial design. This was followed by a successful career in fashion design with clients throughout Europe, U.S., and Japan. In 1990 I moved to the United States, and in 1996 I was introduced to digital media falling in love instantly with its versatility. I have been exploring digital design since then, trying to mix digital color and the illusions of texture and shape to capture fleeting, momentary thoughts and my feelings. My style varies depending on the subject being captured, as I always try to let the subject dictate the style rather than try to impose a repetitive style format. I have retired to Hawaii very early from a career as a fashion consultant, and decided to focus on art. My very first submission of my artwork to an international competition in Italy, was chosen among the finalists. I am a self-taught digital artist, and I like to explore a broad range of subjects. In my gallery you will...

Maria Klimek - My painting is an emotional mirror of my person which animates my plastic works. My art is a trigger of sensations and feelings that are intended to propose s universal language. In my creation I look for the harmony. Led by the graphics and colours, joy and freshness, I opt for geometrical forms. In my work, I am looking for a simple and well-balanced aesthetics allowing each of them to escape through a uniqueness and originality. The diverse materials, resin, papers, mats, the brightest, overlays, colours, tears are elements which, as strokes make exaggerated sign of my painting. I use a small palette of colours and besides paintings of buildings, products of the pharmaceutical industry, varnishes, lacures, inks and colours based on water. With all this I get some surprising encounters which facilitate the hatching of a work In other words, my research will be fruitful if the final receiver of my works is your glance....

Jean-Luc Lacroix - Jean-Luc Lacroix offers to older tools, utensils or other items the chance of a life more beautiful, a contemplative retreat. His talent in the art of recovery and his imagination in the creative reconstruction are without limits. A chair or a console in the sculptured design gives the tray of a pedal assembly the elegance of lace, a fifth wheel as a small pedestal table makes it a beautiful set to pulleys and cranks... But the effect of his work would be incomplete if it did not emphasize the humor that runs through each part: a phantasmagoric bestiary or realistic vain brightenes his work, as well as suggestive names like aEURoeHangover seweraEUR, aEURoeUrlubaEUR or aEURoeBrutusaEUR. Abroad (paintings & sculptures): - represented by Jacques Boulan (Art Editor): Japan. Sweden. Norway. Germany. France. - USA. Belgium. Luxemburg. Spain. United Kingdom. Christo Kasabov - My approach can be described as a New, Conceptual Expressionism. I am using a vast alchemy of materials composed and distributed across the surface in defiance of the very notion of moderation, rationality and order. In my paintings you can see layers of sculptural acrylic structure in which I engrave signs and symbols, numbers and words, inspired from the heritage of the ancient civilizations. My inspiration also comes from the language and the movement of the perfection and beauty of the human body. I use collages from wood, metal pieces or household objects to accomplish and enrich the abstract composition until I achieve the special environment in which everything takes on an artistic language and a philosophical reincarnation, like a trip beyond the horizon towards the exceptional feeling of the material and nonmaterial. The sign in the abstract is both concept and dynamic expression of my spiritual and inner life. It is the leap beyond the realm of what we can see into the realm of the imagination rooted in the human soul. Through the use of evocative color intense dimensional abstractions and architectural symbols, my art reflects the often difficult personal exploration and discovery of my inner spirit. ...

Amy Wetterlin - I strive to exalt the human spirit through capturing composition, structures (organic and non)and repeating patterns. The patterns and forms create an abstract while maintaining balance and movement of life force. Life either moves or is stagnant...it's up to you. Thanks for looking! Cheers Amy...

Lubomir Korenko - For many years and after all my experiences, I devote myself to expressive and abstract painting. I find inspiration all around me, in the natural landscape, people's behaviours and world events. I like to experiment with different styles of painting but at the moment my preferred medium is watercolour because of its independence. The colours on the paper blend and run together, creating wonderful and often unexpected compositions on their own. I also think the most important thing about my art is drawing. The line is an integral part within the structure of making art. My work always begins with line and continues, adding the texture of drawing to the painting. I always charge my paintings with some energy and I try to present a visualisation of my soul, flow of energy and strong emotions. I always tell a story but I still like to leave the door open for a viewer's imagination, so he can enter the world in my paintings and create his own stories. ...

Randall Fox - I am interested in making visual statements about the interaction of time, history, cultures, memory, intellect, intuitions, experiences and the spiritual, in and on the human creative process. "inherent in all manifest in the few" Born: 1960 Education: Bachelor of Science Degree, Industrial Technology (Technical Management) California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo A.S. Degree Canada Collage, Redwood City, California (General Engineering-Pre Med.) Other: Art History/Art Studies - Stanford University, Palo Alto California Collected in: United States, Holland, Norway, Puerto Rico, Germany, Mexico, England, Brazil ...

Edelweiss Calcagno - www.edelweisscalcagno.com +1-240-701-9100 Using different techniques, some of them mixed together to create new unique techniques. My art is formed by adding layer after layer, producing extraordinary illusions making the mind get involved in the labyrinth of colors and materials. Viewers never stop discovering new things - there is something fresh each time they look at my pieces. My source of inspiration is that a picture can speak a thousand words. I have seen many times how my art can touch people. I believe in the freedom of rights and equality for all, and these beliefs impact my artwork and my message. My art does not judge, but it is honest, even when this means stating what I see there is a strong message. I trust my art because the word that comes out from it is a positive word. I discovered the beauty of creating sculptures and prints in addition to doing paintings, etching and restoring art and now they have become part of who I am. There are the infinite possibilities hidden in sculpture. Between mixed media, aluminum casting, and more I love to touch any type of material and find new ways to use ...

Martin Montez - Well...I'm self taught. I let my native american and native earthling experiences influence my work. I don't believe there are mistakes in art. Anything created by a person is insight into however crazy, skewed or thoughtful a persons being is. Embrace it all. I believe if we as humans could learn to appreciate other humans artwork, even if we don't like it, we could learn to appreciate each other AS humans and not; black, white, mexican, iranian, scott etc...our differences are only our clothes and experiences. We were made by God. If we're good enough for him, we ought to be good enough for each other. This earth has two things it'll be known for when it's all over. Art, like music and visual arts....and the fact we kill each other instead of help each other. Let's focus more on ART!...
