Plein air painted on the beaches north of Marquette in upper Michigan. Part of the Wetmore Landing tract along Lake Superior shores. The island is a popular recreation spot for swimmers, but not in June when this work was done. The average temperatures are about 47 to 53 degrees! Brrr.... Kayakers also enjoy these islands and waters.
