Artwork Description:
This face makes me think, first, of a comic book panel, and second, of weaving through pedestrian traffic as we all sidle along to avoid collisions.
I decided to title the painting "Meanwhile" because it is frequently used in all forms of literature as a transition point that forces the reader to switch gears and be ready to think of something else. In comic books, it is a classic phrase, and I think this painting should pay some homage to the inkers and colorists of that industry. I like "Meanwhile" because it also connotes two things happening simultaneously and with this close-up I think the viewer will feel like there is another entity, unseen, that has approached this close to the face.
