Artwork Description:
My work here clears away the background: sweeps away the context,Only the animals are omnipresent. They bend & twist the space around them to identify themselves. They engage us with their metaphysical stories creating homes in our collectiveConsciousness. We take them to our hearts to ensure our connected space remains full of life, memories and matter. Catch me if you can. I watched this young cub grow up many years ago and kept its image hopingfor an opportunity to use it. When I came across the squirrel, the relationship, space and dynamics fell into place for this painting to be created. The concept reminds us all, that we need at some point in our lives, someone to catch us when we fall. However, the irony here is of course, that the fox would be unable to take this action, but looks in wonder at the surreal world where he must avoid being caught at any cost!
