Artwork Description:   The enormous �Warwick vase�, carved from a single block of stone, dates from the time of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Excavated by the Scottish painter Gavin Hamilton in the 18th Century, it is now in the Burrell Collection in Glasgow, Scotland. The vigorously modelled Roman heads appear that peer out from its surface can seem to engage in conversation with visitors to the gallery�
