Artists Describing Their Art:
Jon Glaser - There is something fulfilling about capturing a moment in time particularly as the sun makes its first or last appearance. My photographic work reflects an affinity for movement and sound; the latter reminiscent of a song, starting calmly, building strength, power and energy, until the shutter releases and the image is recorded as the ultimate crescendo. While I am most drawn to the grand landscape, my portfolio includes macro still life and abstract work as well, showcasing a relationship between color and light. NOTE: All of my photographs have been processed with Photoshop and Lightroom withlittle manipulation or adjustment. All colors are true of their location. In addition, I print all images using the latest technology, the highest-quality papers, and newest archival inks. All photographs include a 5mm white border to ensure proper handling that helps eliminate the potential for fingerprints. ...
Jeanette Locher - I have been an artist since I was a child, always dabbling in paints and other media. I wanted to be an artist in the professional atmosphere since I was in High School, but unfortunately, I didnaEURtmt have the support that I needed to pursue that dream. I got deterred to another profession but after many years of doing what I needed to do to get by, my heart was still an artist and needed to be set free again. I recently started up my creative juices again and am having fun doing what I love to do best, creating beautiful images for others to enjoy. I do paintings and have had one art show this past December in Detroit. It was very exciting as the opening night I sold one of my pieces. I also am a published poet, photographer and songwriter. I love nature and most of my work is based on nature and the outdoors. I can only try to capture what the greatest artist, our Creator has already done, within my photography and paintings. I have a dream, as do all artists of being discovered outside my small part of the world and am working ...
Vibhusha Jain - Painting is something I must do as it gives me pleasure and accomplishment in creating something. The uncertainty of the outcome is so exciting . A plain bare canvas becomes beautiful after a few layers of colors and these colors unknowingly gives joy to your heart when watched daily. With my paints, I am never lonely. I feel the purpose of creating art is to share something beautiful and allow others to see something from an artist's perpective. I have an inner need to express without words. I love to paint landscapes, trees, music instruments, birds, flowers and abstract art. I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember, but employment in a totally unrelated field caused me to give up doing any form of artwork for many years. In recent times I re-kindled my interest in art, and, inspired by friends and family, I decided to publish some of my works online. Photography is me yet another passion. We see some simple things around us daily, but to capture it and believe in its beauty is an art in itself. I need you immense support in my journey; to be a successful painter and ...
Mary Ruden - My work is an outward expression for my love of color; and the many textures, patterns, and forms seen in nature. With my background in the medical field, I have studied the complexities of the human body, and am particularly interested in this, and in all biology-oriented projects. My compositions contain actual proportions and mathematical sequences as seen in biological subjects such as butterfly wings, flowers, fruits, scientific and medical subjects. Themes in my art focus on natural, scientific, and medical subjects. The sustainability of several species in nature is depicted in some of my butterfly pieces. Butterflies are also a metaphor for the spirit, a journey in life, a new beginning, or the imagination. My work in Photo-Illustration has many applications for exteriors and interiors: durable vinylized prints which can wrap around columns, span large walls, be made into backlit'Duratrans', transparency light-boxes. Atrium environments are excellent areas for showcasing a photography product with a Plexiglas covering that has been heat-curved; these pieces can hung, or wall-mounted.'Green' applications such as solar electricity for low-voltage LED lights are an approach to lighting. My projects reside in State Parks, Botanical Gardens, government building lobbies, ...
