Artist Statement:
I've discovered in my life
that it's important to me to
respond to that which feels
good and right and nothing
feels better than being in
nature. I'm constantly
inspired and awed and feel
blessed to be a witness to the
life around me and I devote my
life to attempting to capture
it and to bring it inside
myself. Once there, I mix it
with my emotions and
experiences to create a blend
of impressions that I can then
turn into art so that I may
give the beautiful nature I
had experienced to others.
Knowing full well that life is
not always so bright and full
of hope, I also have times of
great reflection and sadness
that can be felt by others,
for it is universal. Through
my portraits, I try to see
into the life lived and bring
what I see onto paper for
others to understand and
contemplate. For when we take
time for compassion, greater
things are possible of us.
Along with nature and people,
I have one more messenger in
my art and they are birds.
Some say when a soul dies, it
takes shape of a bird to fly
