Artist Statement:
If only I had more
time.......If only I wasn't so
stressed out.......If only I
wasn't in debt........If
only.......When will I ever be
able to let my heart go? I can
sing, dance, act, and paint.
But I never do these things,
they are only my hobbies. How
unfortunate that the only
things, which make me happy
are the things I cannot do.
Someday, I guess......Someday,
I will not be a secretary
anymore, I will not be
unemployed. Someday, maybe
tomorrow, I will be able to
indulge in my interests. The
two pieces I have submitted
are representations of current
life activity. The first is a
lion's face situated next to
three cave paintings of other
prey animals. Notice the lion
is the only one that appears
to exist and the other animals
are prehistoric. The other is
a portrait of my ex-boyfriend,
I am next to him. Notice how I
do not quite fit. The painting
subtly says something I never
noticed until we broke up....
