Artist Statement:
The artist Beorn, aka Coen Beorn, originally hails from Roseburg, Oregon. Beorn was born with a congenital birth defect, suffering from a coartated aorta and collapsed aortic valve. He was discovered by the Shriners’ Hospital Program and his family was helped with the piling medical bills as a result of eight open heart surgeries before he was twelve years old. Without the help of the Shriners’ Program, Beorn would not be here today to demonstrate his God-given talent with art.
Beorn decided from a very young age he wanted to give back to other children who suffered as he did from birth. When he realized art was his calling, Beorn did not forget those who had given him a chance at life. He has set a lifetime goal of three million dollars through the sale of his art.
