Artist Statement:
Born and raised in San Francisco, Ca., Bernards interest in art started at the age of 22, when he began drawing and painting. He then went to Europe in 1996 and traveled around France, the Netherlands, Germany and the Czech Republic. After traveling in-between San Francisco and Europe, he eventually settled in Berlin for about a year and continued to draw and paint. After returning to San Francisco for a short period, he went back to Europe the next year to live in Amsterdam for a year. After which Bernard then attended an art school in a town to the south called Utrecht, where he studied conceptual art and began his interest in computer arts. At the end of the school year, he moved back to Amsterdam and worked as an art director there for a website company. When his visa expired, Bernard left for the States to join the Global Peace Walk 2000 in Washington DC and walked with them to New York City where he decided to stay and found a place in Fort Greene, Brooklyn where he resides to this day.
