Artist Statement:
While still an apprentice
Chris garnered a reputation as
a superb draftsman and
painter. He studied
Renaissance techniques with
Professor Roberto Lupetti (b.
1918 - d. 1997), and was
considered one of his finest
students.
His paintings are impeccably
crafted using the finest
materials and methods.
Building layer upon layer of
paint, Chris acheives subtle
and rich textures reminiscent
of old master works. He is
both a master and scholar of
these techniques. Through his
careful attention to the
process and composing of the
painting he is able to
transform even a mundane
object into an intriguing
memoir, providing new
perspectives and psychological
depth to the most ordinary
occurrence.
His work is in both public and
private collections and has
been shown widely including
the cities of San Francisco,
Philadelphia, Washington D.C.,
and Paris....
