Artist Statement:
Born in the "Magic Valley" of
Idaho I've been on hold for
many years as an artist. Now
is my time! I've spent many
years involved as a general
aviation pilot, which is a
passion of mine. I've also
spent many years in the
"cyber" world. But these last
several years have been my
reflection season. I've
discovered that I also have a
passion for art. The marriage
of my technical, flying and
mechanical abilities have
finally come together in my
art.
Copper is a medium which has
taken hold of my imagination.
Each piece has been "fired"
with various torches to
produce the many patinas, with
some metal spinning used on
"Event Horizon". As I'm firing
copper, the red warm glow
reminds me of a red lighted
airplane cockpit at night.
It's awesome!
I've been drawn to Kinetic
Mobiles because they too are
"free fliers". They move with
seemingly no wind currents at
all. They are "magical" to the
heart, soul and mind....
