Artist Statement:
ARTIST STATEMENT
Through the original vision of
E. Moises Diaz, metal is
reborn as a three-dimensional
image that illustrates still
life with a hint of abstract
thought. His streamlined and
stylized pieces offer a unique
perspective on life’s
structures, whether natural or
industrial.
The collection of E. Moises
Diaz consists primarily of low
relief constructed sculptures
that are framed for a distinct
presentation. Diaz utilizes
three different metals:
recycled aluminum (from cans),
aluminum, and stainless steel.
All metal materials are of a
thin gauge, which are cut and
then sculpted into forms using
a technique developed
exclusively by Diaz. All
pieces are crafted
meticulously by hand; no
machines or presses are used.
The sculpted pieces are then
assembled with adhesives and
framed in a shadow box.
