Artist Statement:
The beginning of beauty should
be inherent to the line. The
thin to thick, the
intersection or disconnection,
the illusion of volume, mass
and special composition. Prior
to color though prefaced and
underscored throughout by
issues of medium and texture.
And all of that prior to any
centrifuge of discourse, hype
or affiliation.

My guiding manifesto is to
attempt to celebrate the
combined aspects of render,
investigation, pathos and
experience. I believe
illustration allows a
dexterity of reflection that
might at best transcend the
boundaries of the benign and
commonplace, the mundane and
typical.

A color alone can contrast a
setting or orchestrate an
entire mood. All about scale,
setting and exposure. I am
humbled to be able to scratch
a mark on paper. I am awed
when that mark might speak
back to me. I am delighted
should my work tickle forth an
emotional response from the
jaded prospective viewer.

I hope to spring another layer
of exposure upon the bleached
blank desensitization of the
consumer mass collective. If
for nothing else, to entertain
and beg of them to always step
back from the status quo of
popular culture and
second-guess what bullocks
they might have just been ...
