Artist Statement:
I was born and raised on the east coast of the U.S. and worked for many years in the health services field. It's ironic that I spent so many years of my life, both as a student and a professional, in the "scientific" world, since, even as a child, my natural bent was always to think abstractly in colors and pictures, rather than numbers and words. In fact, verbal, and even written expression to some extent, always seemed somewhat foreign to me, somewhat awkward and strained.
For years I experienced a vague longing and growing discontent, until I miraculously awakened to my true and deepest self, and the world of digital art unfolded to me. Here were the tools-the toys; here was finally a vehicle for the expression of my inner abstract world. Suddenly, everything began to flow.
I'm not sure why I repressed my artist's soul for so many years. I only know that, blessed with the means to follow my bliss, the act of artistic creation for me is its own reward and its own motivation, ever feeding itself, ever reaching for more. Energized and fully immersed, I work for hours and hours ...
