Artist Statement:
My work is influenced by the
world around me, and edited
for my own purposes. I often
engage in “urban trekking,”
photographing urban landscapes
during frequent expeditions
with my camera. I choose to
present these landscapes in a
large, simplified format, with
rich, vibrantly colored skies
that evoke current events in
my life. Simplifying the
buildings and landscapes, I
create scenes much different
from the busy urban
environment that inspired
them. Free of human life,
these urban landscapes address
our insignificance in the
vast, man-made world. Even as
dominant and progressive as we
are, man is no match for the
power, beauty, and vastness of
nature....
