Artist Statement:
The purpose of an artist
is to interpret reality
through his eyes, to refine
it, reorganize it and
reinterpret it.
My paintings are the
visual creation of a given
moment.
My objective is to
capture the fleeting light, or
mood of the moment; to embrace
the color and feel of the
location and atmosphere.
My focus is on color and
its influence on the structure
and mood of a painting.
I do not seek to
reproduce the colors of
nature, but rather to be
influenced, guided and
inspired by them. I consider
both the surface tension of
color and the colors of the
descriptive space of the
landscape.
I am drawn to the
contrasts and complements in
natures divers elements and
the overall sense of balance
there.
I believe that a good
painting should be a temporary
escape into a unique visual
reality.
