"In my painting I try to
convey a sense of mystery or
drama, a strong visual
impression that hopefully can
make such an emotional impact
on the viewer that they come
back again and again to that
image. Whether the subject
matter is realistic or
abstract, still life or
portraiture, it must grab the
viewer's attention and keep it
there, if it is to succeed as
a work of art."
