My passion for painting shows
throughout my illustration
pieces. My most prominent
style occurs in the pieces
with watercolor, prisma color,
and conte' crayon. Focusing on
preparing the support for the
image, I put down gesso to
prepare the board along with a
watercolor wash drip on the
background to mix colors and
give an added texture to the
piece. I use a subtractive
method of watercolor to lift
the paint off of the support
and add the highlights with
pencils and conte’ crayon to
each work. Each composition’s
white (dead) space is as
interesting and in harmony
with the subject of the piece.
