Artist Statement:
My recent paintings take my
ongoing explorations of the
human experience to new
extremes. My work consists of
bold, colorful, provocative
multi-media paintings that
intermingle abstract symbolism
and energetically, emotionally
applied materials onto the
canvas. My art creates vivid,
encompassing statements that
revolve around the multitude
of human experiences: faith,
passion, intensity, soul,
desire, sadness, elation,
energy, freedom, rage,
sexuality, spirit, learning,
growth, anxiety, celebration,
illness, healing, survival,
death, love, memory, longing,
light, and ultimately personal
growth and hope.
I am fascinated with the
metaphorical language of
explosive color, texture, and
multi-media expression which I
express through my ambitious
subject matter. Each of my
paintings begins with a thrust
of color and movement which
are suggestive of my unique
artistic process; the
combination of traditional art
making techniques with the
abstract intuitive and
sublime. Each piece of my work
is powerfully suggestive of
the grandiose awesomeness of
the world we live in. My work
speaks of the larger life
source and universal trust
present in virtually every
human experience. The
