Artist Statement:
Hello, my name is Richard R.
Snyder and I am a dedicated
lifelong student of art and
design. I took art classes at
The Carnegie Museum starting
in fifth grade. Before high
school I received an early
admission to Carnegie Mellon
University’s Pre-College Art
Program which took place on
saturdays during the school
year. I took a three year
course, focusing mainly on
graphic design basics. In my
extra year I took Advanced
Anatomy Drawing. I attended
The Art Institute of
Pittsburgh in the Graphic
Design program. I received the
Merit Scholarship and
graduated with honors with an
Associates Degree in
Specialized Technology.
I used to (and still do on
occasion) mixed media
paintings, but after I was
introduced to Photoshop, I
(after months and months of
experimentation) was able to
transfer my style of painting
to a digital format. My mind
works very quickly, so this
process suits me well, since I
can get a piece done very
quickly with Photoshop without
losing my original vision....
