Artist Statement:
My painting styles are
categorized within the realm
of Realism, Traditionalism,
Constructivist, and
periodically in the Abstract.
Thematic developments are
usually influenced through
music; especially (Jazz and
Gospel), children in the
genre, religious metaphoric
reminders, and historical
pictorials. Influenced by
Henry O. Tanner, Thomas Hart
Benton, Jackson Pollock, and
Dean Mitchell. I’m influenced
more in how they approached
life versus their art, in
Dean’s case it’s definitely
his art. I primarily work in
oils, but enjoy working in
watercolor as time permits.
