Artist Statement:
John S. Zeringue III, having been born and raised in Louisiana, has found his inspiration in lifes experiences.
Using such mediums as acrylics and oils he paints the vibrant colors which he interprets to be "a whole nother
way of life". John recently been an honorarium of the successful "Festival of Fins" in New Orleans, as well as
a participant with the Algiers Economic Development Foundation's "ArtCAN" project. Currently he has made
submissions to both the Acadian Arts Council's "Pelicans on Parade".
John aspires to one day own a gallery were children and adults suffering form various illnesses, can attend workshops and participate with others. "People tend to feel more alive when they are no longer confined to solitude. If all they know is sickness, the sickness will
catch hold." He also wants to go international with his work. "New Orleans and the surrounding areas
have so much beauty to give to the world - after all,we are the home of 'The Greatest Free Show on Earth.'
Where else would people stand around wantingly in the rain as others throw plastic, riding atop painted paper maché for hours with smiling faces?" ...
