Artist Statement for Joan Shannon
|
|
|
Although mainly a photographic artist I also like to work with paints, pastels, pen, pencil, charcoal and cutouts. Many of my photographs are straightforward landscapes (I publish my own local view postcards) but others are more varied in subject matter and may be digitally manipulated. I am especially attracted to and influenced by the modern period in both art and photography. Within Ireland I have exhibited in Dublin, Belfast, Armagh and other centres.
