| Your Personal Biography |
Adrian Cabedo was born in 1956 in Gibraltar and started painting early on in life. In the past he has worked as a full time artist, commercial diver, photographer, climber and yacht skipper. He received his first art prize in 1968 which essentially began his artistic life. Preferring to paint from nature, and living in Gibraltar, with southern Spain at his doorstep he is never short of stunning and varied subjects. Although primarily self taught , in more recent years he has been painting with and learning from, his master Roger Shantz. His main interests lie in the land and seascape of the area, and all that goes on around it. He first exhibited at the Gibraltar Open Art Exhibition in 1982, where he won third prize for his watercolours. Since then he has painted and exhibited annually in the Gibraltar Opens, having been awarded many commendations and prizes along the way. His preferred medium is oils though he is equally happy to work with mixed media, watercolours or pastels. Apart from Gibraltar he has also exhibited in Spain and the U.K., including the Royal Society of British Artists and other London galleries. There are paintings of his in many private and corporate collections around the world, the Government of Gibraltar, in Toronto, Mexico, Alaska, U.S.A. Canada, Spain and of course Gibraltar, including many ex-Governors of Gibraltar, the British Ambassador to the Holy See, Rome and the British Ambassador to Chile. |
