Artist Statement for Arnold James Isbister
|
|
|
I am an artist of 27yrs. who visualises my world through traditional
as well as contemporary 'styles', my imagery/ideas are consumated within
a bicultural frame. With Native and European influences my art manifests
itself in a cultural surrealism. Social 'norm', interpretation, meaning,
spirituality is relative to Culture and how other people translate my
visions is the genesis of my work. My visions are not dependant or
limited by a particular style; rather it's the manner in how to truly
honestly recreate that image born in mind at a moment of revelation,
insight or imagination. In our Culture it was forbidden to change or
manipulate the vision, the elements of Truths and Mysteries of the
Universe are in our dreams and the representation of.
