Artist Statement:
My first blacklight paintings were done before I guaduated high school in 1976. I went on to become a foreign language teacher. In 1990, the first edition of a foreign language game I invented went on the market. "Battling Interpreters" is published and sold internationally (U.S.A. and Canada) by Teachers' Discovery of Auburn Hills, Michigan.
As much as I love foreign language teaching, over the years, my artwork became increasingly important to me. My art career gradually overtook my teaching career to the point where I stopped teaching full-time and formed a business based on my artwork.
I strive to achieve a certain intensity by combining strikingly bold designs with fluorescent paint that I special order from a theatrical supply company. I create original fluorescent works, which is also the name of my company - Fluorescent Works. I have a pre-print line of T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring my artwork.
