Artist Statement:
I was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1961. I studied painting in the Republican Art School and Institute of Fine Arts. Over the years, the style of my work has been developing from a quite realistic toward more spontaneous and impulsive. My favorite art movements are Impressionism and Fauvism. In my every new artwork, I enter a terra incognita, where I strive to find an appropriate style and technique to convey my ideas most fully.
In 1994 I moved to the USA. Residing in New York, I have worked as a graphic designer, illustrated a few books, and took part in a number of art exhibitions. I do commissioned portraits in oil, acrylic, pastel, etc....
