Artist Statement:
Currently I am most interested in painting of natural areas, especially coastal scenes and tend to concentrate on sunrise and sunsets when I really appreciate the glorious colours and patterns of clouds nteresting. I like, too, the waves at the beach. I hope that my portrayal of clouds and waves continually improve over time.
While my emphasis is on miniatures, I do enjoy painting works that are a little larger....

| Your Personal Biography |
It is only since I married Katya that I became really interested in art. She kept at me to pick up the brush and paint, but it wasn't until I started framing her paintings in 2007 that I came to think I might as well fill some frames with my own paintings. I had always said that if I painted I would paint big pictures with a big brush. Instead I have taken mainly to miniature sized works.
On entering my first paintings, a pair of miniatures of Hornby Lighthouse,at the beginning of 2008 in the Royal National Canberra Art Section I was awarded a Highly Commended. This year (2009) I was awarded Second Prize for another pair of miniatures of beach scenes at sunset. |
