Reality meets myths. Personal visual impressions of chosen English gardens, ut lately also Mediterranean seaside, are coming together in imaginative collages and alchemic transformation.

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I always liked to create images that were telling stories. I always was revewing my life by painting events and impressions. I could not live life without turning it into a painting.
Also I enjoy the transformation of colour during the painting process. That is one of the reasons why I prefered the watercolour for the last ten years, but now I am back on oil painting as well; the watercolour exercise gave a new refinement to my oil paintings. |

| Your Personal Biography |
Female architect, writer, painter and multimedia artist.
- Born in Athens/Greece, Austrian citizen, living in London since 1995.
- The environment plays its part in my feelings and the themes and ways I express myself when I paint.
- Other arts are important influencs and factors of my paintings, such as music, dance and gardening, of which I have direct experience, but also some times the art of weaving has to do with the way I used thin lines of brush.
- Artistic talent and skills are in the family.
- My laurea in Architecture in Italy (Palermo and Florence) contributed in my drawing education. Not only draing open spaces in the old cities but also an initiatory study of stage painting developed in me a sense of perspective vision and urban harmony. Self education through Museums and Galleries visits but also experimenting with a variety of material, has been integrated by technical knowledge of painting learned in artist's ateliers in Athens, study of nude in Graz and studies of dancing movements in various ballet groups training.
- The need for making sense of the world's events through figurative representation manifested itself early in life.
- Being for a long time a single child contributed to a natural inclination towards isolation in a world of imagination and pictorial creativity.
- Apart from the external geography,it has been developed in me the thirstfor the esoteric travels through myths and tradition in initiating rituals. Symbols seen in architectural proportions, shapes and details entered the personal code of painting although did not diminish spontaneity, intuition and improvisation.
Other artistic projects, apart from the mentioned exhibitions of paintings:
- In Vienna, N.Oe, London and Devon, mostly volunteer and charity artwork -
Painting in a hospital, interactive painting with psychiatric patients, work with mental disable and, supported by the Oe.K.S., imaginative garden projects with school children, inclusive dance and music (Project: Lluvia.
- In the large gap between the exhibitions, I made in London historical research, writting and illustrations, for two books, 'Black Dogs' and 'Contessina on the balcony', which I published as digital material in our own publishing house, 'Delphi Books Publishing London'(www.delphi-books.co.uk)
My interrest for symbols and esoteric rituals of the Seasons, the 4 Elements etc are manifested in my book 'Contessina on the balcony' and in most of my recent paintings.
Painting is my real-life's path!
I am looking forwards to more exhibitions. |
