Artist Statement:
Nearly all of my work has as
its subject or backdrop the
Port City of Superior,
Wisconsin and the Great Lake
Superior. Its industrial
history has held my
fascination for years now, and
though I don't live there
currently, I find it again and
again working its way into my
paintings. I've carried with
me its bays, slips, shipyards,
grain elevators, massive
iron-ore docks, flour mills
and great rail-yards
everywhere I've gone, and my
hope is to one day return to
Superior and contribute to it
what I can with my work. Thank
