Artist Statement:
Amanda Scott is an emerging
artist based in Melbourne.
Amanda has always wanted to
pursue a career in the Arts
Industry. "I have never wanted
to do anything else but create
art or work in an art related
environment."
She is currently finishing her
second year of a Visual Arts
Diploma at Chisholm Insitute
majoring in both Painting and
Photography. Amanda started
the course with a main
interest in Photography,
working prodominately in black
and white. However since
developing her Painting skills
during her first year, and
finding a love of working with
paint, Amanda decided to take
Painting up as a second major
this year.
Through out her two years with
Chisholm Institute, Amanda has
entered many exhibitions where
she has recieved Hounarable
mentions and the sale of
various works. Amanda has
found exhibiting a valueable
experience. "I have always
thought it has been important
to get my art out there in the
community and get it seen."
She finds constructive
critisim develops her
technique and that her she is
constantly learning.
Her work this year has had a
focus on a feminine theme.

"Up on a wall in Upwey"
This is the final week to catch a dramatic art exhibition, ILLUSIONS, on display in the Foyer Access Gallery at Dandenong Ranges Cultural Centre, 351 Glenfern Road, Upwey.
A joint exhibition by three visual arts students from Chisholm TAFE, their paintings explore character and emotion, the people who pass through our lives and the female contour and shape through realistic and abstract images.
The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 4:30pm until Sunday. Entry is free. Details 9754 8723.
