Artist Statement:
Professional artist and designer; specializing in interactive and time-based media. She calls herself a Magical Realist and inter-media artist: an artist who is comfortable exploring and employing diverse media at the same time.
Graduated with a degree in fine art from the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, Aliyah Marr has exhibited nationally and internationally; including an interactive piece, called the Book of Hours, at the world famous Siggraph show in Los Angeles. As an educator, she has taught art, design, video production and programming at Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, and The School of Visual Arts in New York city.
She is a published author and illustrator, writing for such diverse publications as Nautilus CD Magazine (tutorials on multimedia) and Sedona Journal (articles on creativity and lucid dreaming). Locally, her articles may be found in the Inner Realm Magazine. She is currently involved in creating a body of work that explores new media as fine art.
