Artist Statement:
I am a self taught artist. I like to explore in all types of media, and try out a variety of style and type of work. I have a lot of fun doing what I do. I have done a series of drawings for a book on Harehunting, which will be published in the spring of 2002.
"One Day at a Time"

Reviews for Eleanor Hartwell:
|
|
|
Millbrook Round Table, 1998
"During the months of January and February the Epiphany Gallery has been honered to show the works of Eleanor Hartwell. Her delightful images of country and equestrian life are familiar scenes to many of those who either know of, or reside in Millbrook. Painted in a wonderfully nsive and lyrical fashion, they play about he surface to awaken the daily routines of country living, mindful of the spirit and nuance that make Millbrok unique.
Many of her works depict vistas teeming with riders, houses, fences, horses and hedgerows to break the picture plane. Others are glimpses into the more intimate settings: observations of hounds at rest or merely a tranquil stroll with dogs through a pasture. Each is a world of it's own, shaped by an eye that harvests a moment in time.
Eleanor is no stranger to this area. Although she currently resides in New Hampshire, she grew up in Millbrook and learned of the feel it's rural language provides. Her paintings are sensitive and loving accounts rendered as if atop a music box-playful tunes in color."
Written by Bill Hardy, manager of the Epiphany Gallery, and Art Director at the Millbrook School
