Artist Statement:
Alessandro Monti was born in
Rome in 1966. Initially
self-taught, he later attended
the Accademia di Belli Arti of
Rome. The artist does not aim
for an objective
representation of reality, but
rather attempts to express
“his reality” with its laws,
colors and forms. In his
creative process the artist
perceives the emotive and
sensory, as opposed to the
objective, reality. He uses
forms, colors and lines,
deforming “adult” reality to
give space to his own vision,
his own ego. The key to the
understanding of his art is a
set of emotions which
accompanies the artist in a
continual research related
through a luminescent
chromatic play of colors, his
concentration is never
finalized towards the result
of the work he has begun, but
draws upon the creative urge,
which is always chaotic and
disorderly. A constructive
disorder, which accompanies
the artist as it develops
along a wide-ranging tunnel of
harmony, colors and forms.
Enriched by the solid cultural
background acquired during his
travels in America and in
Europe. His works are to be
found in private collections,
he takes part in collective
and one-man exhibitions,
pictorial exhibitions,
national and international
