Artist Statement:
I paint because I love it, and
because it makes me feel more
connected to my community.
My paintings are my story, my
history. They show the
everyday splendor of the
communities I live in and
visit.
With my paintings I try to
capture what is happening
around us in our daily life.
I take ordinary visions and
make them beautiful by using
vibrant colors and heavy
brushstrokes. The natural
lighting of the location
always guides me.
All of my paintings are
painted outside, in plein air.
Every piece is different
because each moment I endeavor
to secure on canvas, is
different. To me this is the
best part about my work.
There is always something new
to see.
