Artist Statement for Cathy Matthews

|
My statement is simple. No matter what I do artisticly, I feel as if I have given birth when I finish. It's possible I endured some "pain" in the process of getting it exactly like I wanted it, or it could have been a pain-free experience. Either scenario leaves me feeling proud of my creation because I don't called it "finished" until I'm happy with it. When someone looks at my work, I just hope it will give them a few moments of pleasure knowing I put my heart and soul in it.
