|
“Humans are a fragment of nature, and nature is a figment of humanity”

Throughout our history, mankind has always had a tenacious preoccupation with control. We mould the internal and external habitat in an attempt to impose order and structure to a world who’s intrinsic beauty is it's unique randomness, it’s chaos. It is this condition of ‘man’, this harmonious abuse of nature, arresting a utopian vision of the world that is humanities fallacy.
Within the seemingly banal and ‘commonness’ of the everyday, myriad relationships between objects are in constant fluctuation; ceaselessly changing, evolving. The world depicted through these photographs is a world of mutability; anonymous, for the lack of signs and written text emphasise feeling rather than fact; place rather than time.
The marks we make on the world are only for the briefest of moments. Photography captures these moments, moments where the aura of man is all that remains; the ever present absence of man.
