Artist Statement:
I am a Canadian artist. I love drawing and painting particularly people and landscapes. Reading, studying, and viewing art also brings me great pleasure. I hope viewers also get pleasure when looking at my work. Over time, I will continue to improve. I have never been concerned about developing a particular style. I am a representational artist but I hope my art is also expressive. Please see my biographical information. Click on my links to my website, fineartameric.com and flickr to see all my art work. ...

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I love drawing and painting, particularly people, flowers and landscapes. I go to places where people congregate, i.e. shopping malls, and I sketch people going about their activities. I sketch faces. While it was not my initial reason for doing art work, I am enjoying making reproductions of my original paintings and selling paintings and my reproductions (prints, giclees on paper or canvas. See http://arlene-babad.fineartamerica.com.) |

| Your Personal Biography |
I am a Canadian artist who works with acrylics on canvas, mount board and watercolour paper. I also paint cards. I make reproductions of my art work. I have worked with watercolour paints, water soluble oils, oil pastels, coloured pencils, charcoal and graphite. I have taken courses at university and art schools but I consider myself primarily self taught. I read many art books and magazines. I have the opportunity to study the work of other artists at galleries. I am a member of a group that meets every week at the Art Gallery of Ontario to discuss works of art in the Gallery’s collection. I consider myself a lifelong art student.
I am also listed in the ArtistsinCanada Directory.
