Artist Statement:
I am a Canadian
representational artist. I use
acrylics as I would oil
paints. I can paint thin
glossy layers or thick
textural strokes. I love
colour and I am drawn to its
vibrancy. When I paint, I try
to capture the excitement of
colours. I believe that
colours have movement, and I
try to share that movement
with the viewer. My paintings
are in private collections in
Canada and the U.S. I am also

I love drawing and painting. Painting, sketching, studying and reading about art brings me peace. While it was not my initial reason for doing fine art, I enjoy making fine art reproductions of my original paintings and selling paintings and my reproductions (prints,giclees on paper or canvas; fine art greeting cards, postcards. |

I am a Canadian representational artist. I use acrylics as I would oil paints. I can paint thin glossy layers or thick textural strokes. My paintings are in private collections in Canada and the U.S. I am also listed in the ArtistsinCanada Directory.
I have taken courses at university and art schools. I read many art magazines and books. I study the work of other artists. I am a lifelong art student.
I sell fine art prints of my paintings in different sizes, giclees on archival paper or canvas (see http://arlene-babad.fineartamerica.com).
