Artist Statement for Arlene Horton
|
|
|
I'm a representational artist. I do not remember a time in my life when I was not able to express what I saw before me in crayon, pencil or paint. As a child I drew constantly, recording the scenes in my Bronx neighborhood.
I put my interest in art aside until a few years ago. I was busy attending to life's other demands.
Now I look forward to each morning knowing that I will spend each day painting or drawing. I have an endless amount of ideas for drawings and paintings and I find each day exciting.
I love that my work is exhibited frequently in galleries here in New York ,that I have developed a following and I am accepted as a professional artist by the art community.
