Artist Statement:
I am a representational artist. My paintings focus on the relationships that people have with themselves and with others. Each painting, though simple in a one or two person composition, builds to a much larger narrative where each character struggles to find themselves or the one that will make them complete. These paintings perpetuate the emotions, energy and strengths that make up my experiences as an artist, a husband and a father.
My panels are made by hand and primed with a marble dust and glue ground. The grounds are then sanded to a smooth marble finish. I graduated with a BFA and Art History minor from Penn State University in 1995 and spent a semester abroad in Todi, Italy. In 2003 I was chosen to represent the United States at Florence Biennial in Florence, Italy. My work has been featured at The Salmagundi Club, NYC, Allentown Art Museum, The Berman Museum of Art, Monsoon Galleries, The Hoyt Institute of Art, Afif Gallery, Qbix Art Gallery, The State ...
