Artist Statement:
Early in my practice of art I
worked in a series of abstract
styles. Then as I studied the
history of art, I became
fascinated with the period of
Baroque and Mannerist art. I
use the art of this period as
inspiration and a starting
point to explore compositions
which drift into surrealism. I
have often used images of
statues from this period in my
work and I like to employ a
kind of theatricality to my
compositions....
