Born in Singapore with an exceptional gift of Art clearly evident at an early age.
Graduated with Medical degree from University of Singapore, 1977.
The Artist in her continued to find expression even as she pursued an initial career as a Family Physician. Became a self-taught Cartoonist, Graphic/Web Designer and Illustrator, with many published works, and finally as a Visual Artist.
Studied Chinese Brush Painting 1989.
Graduated with Certificate in Western Art from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore, 2000.
Attended many courses at NAFA & LaSalle-SIA College of the Arts, Singapore,1998-2000, including:
Advanced Watercolour Workshops and Outdoor Watercolour Painting with eminent Singapore artists Ong Kim Seng and Tong Chin Sye,
Oil Painting, Portraiture and Figure Drawing.
Made several painting trips to countries including China and Malaysia, to paint the “floating villages”, 2001-2002.
Joined Markmakers, an experimental Figure Drawing Group, in 2001, when her Art took on an innovative new direction.
Graduated with Post Graduate Diploma in Art Therapy, Western Australia, 2002.
Explored new media, and creations which include batik art, sculpture, video and digital art, and kinetic art installations with sound and light in collaboration with musicians 2004.
Completed Masters Degree in Art Therapy, 2007.
Bee is now based in Perth, Western Australia. |
