Artist Statement:
Born in Sankt-Petersburg and educated
at the Mukhina Art Institute Sankt-Petersburg
1985-1990, moved to Sweden in 1991. Lived
and worked in Lapland 1991-1994,
since 1994 she lives and works in Stockholm.
She paints mostly in oil, akrylic and water color.
The paintings, distinguished by the repetition of
stylized human figures,
are characterized by a dynamic sense
of movement.
Each image shows a scene of unidentified figures
finding their way in an anonymous crowd with
ease.
The tight compositions unite the unknown figures
together in a common theme, like "reflection",
"composition".
The simplified forms are given by Natalia
Jonanssons exguisite sense of texture.
